What is Silicon Carbide?

Silicon carbide (SiC) is a synthetic material made by fusing silica and carbon at high temperatures. Known for its extreme hardness (9.5 on the Mohs scale), high thermal conductivity, and chemical stability, SiC is widely used in abrasives, refractory linings, and advanced ceramics.

There are two main types: Black Silicon Carbide (for general industrial abrasives) and Green Silicon Carbide (for high-purity applications).

Available Grades and Grit Sizes

We supply FEPA-standard silicon carbide grit from F12 to F1200, including micro powder grades. All materials are processed with consistent particle size distribution and low impurity levels.

Silicon Carbide FAQ

Black SiC is tougher and used for general grinding, blasting and refractories. Green SiC is higher purity and friable, preferred for precision lapping, polishing and some semiconductor processes.

Yes. We stock F600–F1200 and can provide sub-micron SiC on request with tight PSD and low free carbon. Certificate of analysis (COA) can be issued per lot.

Typical SiC ≥ 98% for black grades and ≥ 99% for green grades (grade dependent). We control free Si, free C, Fe2O3, and magnetic content to meet abrasive and refractory standards.

We provide FEPA F12–F1200 by default and can match JIS/ANSI equivalents. A grit mapping table is available and can be attached to your PO.

Yes. We offer TDS/MSDS for all grades and can recommend grades for grinding wheels, blasting media, refractory castables, kiln furniture, and ceramic components.

Standard 25 kg bags or 1 t jumbo bags with palletizing; OEM labels available. Typical MOQ is 1 t per grade; lead time 7–14 days ex-factory depending on stock.

Yes. We arrange sea or rail shipping worldwide and support FOB, CIF and DDP (selected countries). SDS and HS codes are provided for customs clearance.

We can tailor PSD, magnetic content, and blending (e.g., F36/F46) to your process window. Trial samples are available; COA issued per shipment.
