Why Use BFA in Concrete Systems?

Brown fused alumina (BFA) is used as a hard aggregate and additive in concrete formulations to improve mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and anti-skid performance. Its high hardness and chemically inert nature make it ideal for demanding applications such as industrial floors, precast elements, and airport pavements.

Recommended Grain Sizes

  • Surface aggregate (exposed): 1–3 mm, 3–5 mm
  • Fine structural additive: F36–F80
  • Dry-shake toppings: 0.5–1.0 mm angular grit
